This is a post about the joys of my GEGL plugin "Threshold Alpha 2". A GEGL plugin I made back in 2023 meant to be an improved version of GIMP's threshold alpha that doesn't kill all transparency. Its like Curves on Alpha but simpler and better. Threshold Alpha 2 ships with many plugins of mine most noticeably Sharp Bevel and Glossy Balloon. It removes puff and excesses around edges of alpha defined content. In example a image of a transparent person has grey puff artifact around it. Threshold Alpha 2 will remove it without killing all transparency and simpler then curves on alpha. Also Curves on Alpha cannot be called in GEGL Graph.

Threshold Alpha 2 is one of my most used GEGL plugins that almost always follows REMBG usage on transparent images. I hope others get the same joy out of it that I do.
